Silvia Salamanca (Flamanco-Gypsy Tribal Fusion) is a life-long dancer from Mallorca, Spain! Silvia graduated at the age of nineteen as a major in ballet and performed professionally as a modern dancer in major Europe festivals with the contemporary dance company of the University of Barcelona. She started her career as a belly and Tribal dancer in 2001. With her work in the field of Zambra Mora (spanish gypsy-oriental dance fusion) Silvia has gained international recognition and is currently invited to teach workshops and perform in major festivals in Europe and across the USA. Nika Mlakar (SLO)
Nika Mlakar started her dancing career as a very young girl by means of roller skating. She participated in a school-dancing group in the primary school and later joined the Terpsihora Dancing Club dancing various forms of dance (hip hop, modern, show, belly dance). Her passion for dancing and hard work have awarded her with many prizes and titles: several successive titles of a Bellydance National Champion in junior and senior category, the title of a Junior World Champion in the classical belly dance in Moscow in 2008, three times the title of the Bellydancer of the World won in Germany in the junior and senior category and the first prize award at the prestigious Bellydance Superstar Junior Contest in Blackpool. As regards the modern dancing technique, her dancing was awarded with three bronze medals at national competitions and two silver medals at world championship contests in junior and senior category. Her favourite dance is belly dance. Her first teacher was a renowned Italian dancing teacher Simona Minisini. In addition to regular training sessions led by Manca Pavla and Irina Stankovich, Nika currently participates in dancing seminars taking place around the world and in Egypt; these seminars are organised by renowned dancing teachers (Rachel Brice, Raqia Hassan, Randa Kamal, Bozenka, Sonia, Sharon Kihara, Sadie, Heather Stants, Mira Betz, Saida, Kami Liddle...). She led her students to win the title of the European Champion in the category small groups - adults and the title of the European Champion and the first runner-up at the World Championship in the category group-adults-formations. Helene Skaugen (NOR)
Helene Skaugen is one of Norways leading oriental dancers and has more than 10 years experience as a performing dancer and dance instructor. Since 2001 she has been teaching oriental dance full time under her own company, Studio Orient in Oslo, Norway. Helene performs regularly at Oslos dance café, Habibi and teach four days a week. She has previously worked as a dancer in Turkey, and has performed at festivals in Istanbul, Oslo and Stockholm. She has been a baordmember in the norwegian dance organization, Al Farah, for the last six years. Helene works with a number of wellknown musicians and is the first and only norwegian dancer to have two oriental dance cd`s produced for her, "Helenes raks sharki" and "Helenes raks sharki vol 3" by Mustapha Dahir Orchestra . She has performed with well known dancer, singers and musicians such as Medhat Fahmy and Ibrahim Tatlises. In january 2005 she opened her own oriental dance school and the first and only oriental culture center in oslo, Studio Orient. Background: Helene Skaugen started dancing at the age of five in Sweden. In 1988 she began participating in national and international disco frrestyle contests and has been on the winning team representing both Sweden and Norway on several occations. She stopped competing after winning the norwegian champiomship in her class in 1997. In 1993-1994 Helene lived in Australia, teaching childrens ballet and showdance. In 1995 she moved to Norway and worked as a dance instructor. In 1996 Helene worked as a dancer and coreographer at Adora Golf Resort Hotel in Belek, Antalya, Turkey. It was here she started dancing oriental dance. In 1998 she began dancing at a turkish restaurant in Oslo where she danced three days per week for three years. After teaching dance indipendantly for four years Helene startet her own company in 2001 and now makes a living as a full tme dancer. Helene performs regularly at the well known oslo dance café, Habibi Cafe. In january 2005 she opened Studio Orient, an oriental dance school and culture center in oslo. |
Dorit Chanel Arobas (Marokko)
Chanel (Dorit) Arobas is leading professional dancer and teacher ,and international instractor. She is director of oriental dance in Kaye college and the director of the training course for belly dance teachers in Israel. She taught oriental dance to prospective teachers at the Wingate Institute for five years ,from 2014 she is head of the oriental dance department in "key" college in israel ,and international instractor. Since 2010 she is a senior teacher at the Oriental Dance school “Arabesque” in Jerusalem. Chanel manages dance troops representing the school at festivals, competitions and other events with her own choreography. She is also teaching private classes all over Israel. She´s the producer of "the oriental pearl 2013 " and "Desert Rose " festivals in Israel and many events in Israel. Chanel performed and taught in various festivals, including Ya Salam, Habibi YaEini, Olim al agal, Spring Festival (Jerusalem, 2012) and Eilat international Festival (2009,2012). Magdy El Leisy (Kairo)
Magdy El-Leisy Dancer, teacher und choreographer for oriental dance Magdy' s first activities were in a sport club, where his interests then developed and led him to ballet. In Cairo is an Academy for Music and Theatre, with a department in ballet. This school was established under russian supervision. From 2600 candidates for the entrance examinations to school was Magdy one of sixboys and eleven girls accepted. Magdy El-Leisy began his systematic training at the age of nine, and completed his studies as best student of his class. At the age of eleven, Magdy was already participating in performances at the Cairo Opera. In Germany he performed with the State Theatre of Karlsruhe, with the Theatre on Gärtnerplatz in Munich and with the Ballet in Essen as a principal dancer. Later on Magdy stoped his career in ballet, to work only for the oriental dance. Beside his career in ballet, Magdy El-Leisy has danced egyptian folklore with many well known artists in theatre, film and television productions, including Nagwa Foad and Kamal Naim. He has travelled to many arabic and european countries with the egyptian folklore troupe of Kamal Naim. With his broad experience and background in ballet and folklore, Magdy, together with his wife Azza, founded an arabic folklore group upon his arrival in Germany. Now Magdy El-Leisy is a famous and popular teacher, dancer and choreographer for the oriental dance almost all over the world. |
Schachlo (Usbekistan)
Schachlo - Master of silk-road-dances and the belly dance "Schachlo" -this name means "beautiful eyes"- and like no other she knows how to express her deep feelings, mood and the nature of her country or to tell stories in her dance. The viewer gets enchanted by the charm of her gestures and her naturally oriental temperament. Dancing means to Schachlo performing a peace of poetic. Her joy overcomes thereby the viewer in her class and lives on stage. Schachlo dance, perform and teach classical and modern forms of dances from Uzbekistan, Tadzhikistan, Persia, Afghanistan and Arabia, also belly dance, Bollywood and gypsy stile dances.
The professional Uzbek dancer finished her education (5 years) at the University of Tashkent and became an exanimate dancer and choreographs. Afterwards she was dancing for eleven years in the famous folk-group called "Lazgy", one of the greatest dance ensembles from Uzbekistan. This group toured many years through Europe, Africa and Asia. She was the solo dancer of this group for the last 5 years she joined. Since several years she is living now in Bremen / Germany.

Melle Chloé SCHWARTZ Born in Paris, in 1995, Chloé Schwartz took dance classes since she was young. Gary Moss, Rick Odums, Patricia Karagozian, Géraldine Armstrong and Bruce Taylor were among her teachers. She also took high level of oriental dance classes with Hind Taoufiq, Yousry Sharif, Randa Kamel, Wael Mansour, Jillina Carlano, Leyla Jouvana ... She has been teaching jazz and oriantal classes at Saint-Maurice (France) for 3 years At the same time, Chloé has entered several international competitions and won several prizes : 1st and 2nd place at the "concours national de la scène française section danse de caractère et danse contemporaine", 3rd place at "international d'Aix en Provence section danse jazz" 3rd place at « concours international d'Aix en Provence section danse jazz » ; finalist at "l'Open de danse orientale" – 3rd place at "concours international Bellydancer of the World section danse orientale classique" – 1st place at "concours Bellydancer of the World section fusion" ... Chloé was a member of the international company Munique Neith (Barcelonna) and she was also a member of the "Jeune Ballet Jazz Rick Odums" (Paris). As a fusion and oriental dancer, she was invited to perform at various shows and festivals : Heshk Beshk in Italy, Aim High World Final in South Korea,Egypto Barcelona en Espagne, Cairo By Night in Paris...
