Sahra Saeeda (USA)

SahraSaeeda DozentinFestival hoch Sahra is a dancer, teacher and Dance Ethnologist.

As a performer, Sahra performs Orientale and Egyptian Folkloric worldwide. Los Angeles California based, she moved to Cairo to research in 1989, and within the month received a contract with the Meridian-Heliopolis 5-star hotel. She held a continuous 6-night a week contract there for nearly 6 years. She holds the record in Cairo Egypt for the longest running contract of a foreign dancer at a 5-Star Hotel with over 1600 shows in Cairo, Egypt alone.

As a teacher, Sahra has taught (and performed) Egyptian style Orientale and Folkloric dance on five continents. She continues teaching a full tour schedule 11 months a year. Her warm style of teaching encourages students to grow, learn and enjoy.

As a Dance Ethnologist, Sahra has University degrees in Dance Ethnology (Master of Arts UCLA), Cultural Anthropology and Archeology (Bachelor UCSB), and Dance (Associate of Arts Palomar College). After living, researching and performing in Cairo for 6 years (1989-1995) she returns to research in Egypt annually.

Anna Borisova (RUS)

AnnaBorisova DozentinFestival hoch Anna Borisova is a bellydance star from Russia, nowadays one of the most popular bellydance artists in her country and abroad. At the beginning of her dance career she has taken part in different competitions in Russia and worldwide, including Cairo.
She has always studied and trained hard by herself, making choreographies and creating her own special and unique style. She has attended numerous workshops of such great masters of oriental dance as Randa Kamel, Raqia Hassan, Dina, Mahmoud Reda, Yousry Sharif, Lubna Emam, Khaled Mahmoud, Aida Nur, Soraya Zaied, Katya Of Cairo, Amir Thaleb, Asmahan, Saida, Wael Mansour and many others, including Russian famous teachers.
Anna was the prize winner in Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival 2010, performing with the live band. In 2011 Anna became the winner of "Randa Kamel of Course" competition in Cairo, dancing with the live band as well. After that Anna won several competitions in Russia with the live Egyptian bands and has been judged by the famous Egyptian masters. She recieved a high appreciation from many Egyptian stars, who mentioned that Anna has an "egyptian soul". In 2012 she was invited by Madame Raqia Hassan to dance a programme with the live band in the closing gala of Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival in Cairo. Anna loves improvisation, especially with the live band, because she thinks that only free dancing shows the true soul of a professional dancer and reveals her genuine skills.
Anna has developed her own special style, which can be described as strong and very powerful, but at the same time very soft, touching, playful and feminine. Usually she combines strong hip movements with soft arms and powerful shimmies. Anna prefers emotional and impressive dancing using expressiveness and charisma to touch the audience's heart and to catch the eye. She adores egyptian style and likes to add some innovations to it. "Loving, enjoying the music and living a genuine life in the music while being on the stage" - is her motto.
She is a designer of her own costumes. All of them are made with her own ideas and sketches. Anna has a great teaching experience, she is the owner of a large school in her city.
At the current time she presents her experience to her students all over the world. She has already travelled to such countries as Ukraine, France, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, China, Korea, Japan, Argentina, Venezuela, Taiwan, Greece, Mexico, England and many more. Nowadays she is happy to share her knowledge and energy with everyone at her workshops!

BDSS Sabrina Fox (USA)

SabrinaFox ShowgalaFestival hoch Sabrina Fox has been a student, performer and instructor of Tribal Style belly dance since 1999.
Coming from a dance background in all classical forms of dance, she discovered Tribal Belly dance and placed all her passions, focus and study into the art form.
Well versed in American Tribal Style belly dance, ATStm she teaches weekly classes, and hosts a gathering of dancers bi-monthly for practice and dance community connectedness in the dance form, with the intention of maintaining a positive environment for dancers to come together create and connect. also bringing awareness to the public of an otherwise underground dance art.
Sabrina teaches her own style of Tribal-Fusion Belly dance for the big stage, combining belly dance techniques with traveling footwork, contemporary dance, and Jazz technique, creating Improvisational cued combinations, and choreographies for students and her San Diego Tribal-fusion dance troupe Atash Maya.
She has been touring with Belly Dance Super Stars since 2007 and can been seen in several of their available DVD's
Though Sabrina has been considered by many a master of her craft she does not stop there, she continues to educate herself by attending several dance classes a week such as Ballet, Contemporary, Bollywood, Odissi, Tap, Jazz, West African, and circus arts, always adding more ideas and correct instruction to keep students inspired and moving forward, body aware into the performance world of dance.

Sabrina is Certified and is a practitioner of American Tribal Style belly dance, Vinyasa flow Yoga, and bodywork. so has a fine tuned knowledge of posture, proper alignment for clean technique, and dedicates herself to teaching a safe practice of dance for the long term dance enthusiast.
She lives by her passion for the dance arts, and will continue choosing dance as her first and only true love.
Sharing her passion and love of this art from with other dancers and audiences around the world is what and all she lives for.

Inka ShowgalaFestival hoch Tanz... Ausdruck von Emotionen, von Erfahrungen im Lebens, von Träumen und Visionen die entstehen... Den Wundern des Lebens Form geben mit Körper und Stimme... Das ist, wofür mein Herz schlägt.
Inka tanzt seit Kindesbeinen an. Aufgewachsen im Ambiente des Bauchtanzstudios ihrer Mutter Yamuna, lernt sie über die Jahre hinweg verschiedenste Tanzstile wie Flamenco, afrikanischen Tanz, Ballett und Jazz dance. Nachdem sie ihr Diplom für Bühnentanz und Tanzpädagogik an der Iwanson-Schule für Zeitgenössischen Tanz in München erhält, zieht sie nach Montreal, um sich dort ein Leben als freiberufliche Tänzerin aufzubauen.Sie nimmt an einer Audition der Bellydance Superstars teil und ist von da ab festes Mitglied der Gruppe. Seit einem Jahr ist Inka selbstständig auf Reisen - Indien, Europa, Südamerika, USA, Kanada. In jedem Land findet sie neue Geschichten und Tänze; in jedem Land sammelt sie Erfahrungen und Inspiration für ihren Tanz, der eine Fusion all dieser Elemente darstellt.


BDSS Romy

BDSSRomy ShowgalaFestival hoch Romy is an official member of the world famous Dance Company "Bellydance Superstars" (Tours worldwide), is member of the Multiaward winning dance Ensemble "Rakas" („Halima Award" 2008, „Tribal Star Award" 2012, „Bellydancer of the World - Formation" 2013) and in November 2013 she took first place in the competition "Bellydancer of the World- Solo".

Romy is one of the most promising young talents in the oriental dance scene.

Her way of presenting the oriental dance is characterized by passion, knowhow and charm as well as professionalism and is enchanting not only her students but her European and Oriental Audience as well. Her additional jazz dance education and her interest in many other different dance styles make her dance repertoire even more colorful. Romy's uniqueness in her dance also resulted in her partaken in several music videos aired on mtv.

Due to countless performances on stages all around the world and her long-term dance education, Romy became an experienced and sensational young dancer who is always keen to live out her passion at any given opportunity. Her love for the dance, the never ending curiosity, ambition and passion will take her yet a long way.

 

 

 Silvia Salamanca (USA/ES)

Silvia Salamanca (Flamanco-Gypsy Tribal Fusion) is a life-long dancer from Mallorca, Spain! Silvia graduated at the age of nineteen as a major in ballet and performed professionally as a modern dancer in major Europe festivals with the contemporary dance company of the University of Barcelona. She started her career as a belly and Tribal dancer in 2001. With her work in the field of Zambra Mora (spanish gypsy-oriental dance fusion) Silvia has gained international recognition and is currently invited to teach workshops and perform in major festivals in Europe and across the USA. Silvia is also the codirector of Shunyata Belly Dance, the tribal-style company that captivates audiences at the Texas Renaissance Festival.

Nika Mlakar (SLO)

Nika Mlakar started her dancing career as a very young girl by means of roller skating. She participated in a school-dancing group in the primary school and later joined the Terpsihora Dancing Club dancing various forms of dance (hip hop, modern, show, belly dance). Her passion for dancing and hard work have awarded her with many prizes and titles: several successive titles of a Bellydance National Champion in junior and senior category, the title of a Junior World Champion in the classical belly dance in Moscow in 2008, three times the title of the Bellydancer of the World won in Germany in the junior and senior category and the first prize award at the prestigious Bellydance Superstar Junior Contest in Blackpool.

As regards the modern dancing technique, her dancing was awarded with three bronze medals at national competitions and two silver medals at world championship contests in junior and senior category. Her favourite dance is belly dance. Her first teacher was a renowned Italian dancing teacher Simona Minisini. In addition to regular training sessions led by Manca Pavla and Irina Stankovich, Nika currently participates in dancing seminars taking place around the world and in Egypt; these seminars are organised by renowned dancing teachers (Rachel Brice, Raqia Hassan, Randa Kamal, Bozenka, Sonia, Sharon Kihara, Sadie, Heather Stants, Mira Betz, Saida, Kami Liddle...). She led her students to win the title of the European Champion in the category small groups - adults and the title of the European Champion and the first runner-up at the World Championship in the category group-adults-formations. She put on stage her first orient show Layali al Sharq. During the year she regularly teaches in Nova Gorica and Ljubljana.

Mor Geffen (Israel)

MorGeffen NachmittagsgalaFestival hoch Mor is a multi-style ethnic fusion dancer ( tribal fusion, barefoot flamenco/flamenco arabe, gypsy oriental, vitage fusion with hula hoop, silk road dance) a dance and pilates instructor winner of several international oriental competitions (2011, 2013) member and founder of the oriental dance company known as "Sitara".
Mor started to dance 15 years ago with weekley trainings of ballet, modern dance, jazz and improvisation, living in the middle east inspired her to discover the magical world of ethnic fusion dance and music deciding to dedicate her life to this art form.

The Smoky Eyes (FR)

TheSmokyEyes DozentenFestival hoch Blandine choreographer, interpreter and teacher created the company THE SMOKY EYES in July 2009. Made of four dancers with very different dance styles and trainings (ballet, jazz, indian dance, hip hop, gymnastics, circus) the SMOKY EYES company decided to move on from stage to street to provide accessible dance and art to everybody, refusing exclusion Blandine have choreographed several shows including "CIRCUS" the first SMOKY EYES creation inspired by « Freaks » a Tod Browning movie, « Green Piece » an ecologic choreography and « A Baba Yaga » creation for children. The SMOKY EYES have performed in several international shows (France, Quebec, Germany ...) and received the First Price ( twice in duo and group category Tribal Fusion) at the Leyla Jouvana's Contest « Bellydancer of the world » in 2011 in Duisburg. THE SMOKY EYES continue to learn and explore many styles. Nyla

Nyla DozentinFestival hoch Coming from Tomsk, a city far away in Siberia, Nyla now lives in Germany since 2008.
From the very beginning of her dance career she strived to trace down the original traditions and roots of oriental dance. On her search she met many people from different countries with whom she could share this passion in dance.
After her training as a teacher for oriental dance (C.O.D.E-teacher) her dream came true in Mannheim. At her studio (www.nylas-orient.de ) Nyla teaches and trains oriental dancers. In addition to a precise technique she focuses on the ability to feel the music in the dancing and on the expression of emotions in free dancing. This way she wants to keep the fascinating side of women and intuitive dancing alive. It is moving and exciting at the same time for Nyla to see how many feelings and movements find its way to daily life's thoughts and merge in dance and connect with her soul.
She is excited to see what she is yet to meet on her journey to the past and hopes that there will be many more dance experiences with all those who share this enchanting passion of dance with her.

 

Mayyadah

Mayyadah has been teaching since 1995 and organising high quality shows in Germany since 1997 - she can look back on many years of successful appearances here and abroad as well as many years working as a teacher and dancer in Egypt. Since 2001 she has been the lead dancer and choreographer of the El Saherat ensemble which has gained an international following. With her dance partner Amir Amareen she has successuflly performed in Brussels, San Fransisco and at all the major events within Germany, inlcuding Leyla's Oriental Dance Festival.

Mayyadah is a born teacher with a partiular passion for choreography and also for being a mentor to other up and coming dancers. In 2008 she was formally recognised for her services to Oriental dance in Germany. Mayyadah's own performance style is unforgettable and spellbinding, always surprising and ringing the changes - above all the height of skillful interpretation of the dance through top class choreography.

Havva

Havva DozentinFestival hoch Dancer, teacher and choreograph for Oriental dance and folklore. Since 1984 experience in stage dancing and teaching in more than 60 German and European towns.

For many years Havva has been studying the different styles in Oriental dance , the classical dances of Central Asia, the folkloristic dances in oriental and non-oriental countries as well as the dances of the Gypsies in the Balkan states and Russia. Numerous study trips to oriental countries have enlarged her knowledge and her ethnological research about the relationships and differences in the vocabulary of oriental movements. In the field of teaching Havva's emphasis is on how to prepare and teach this vocabulary in a logically didactic and methothodical way as well as how to make clear the cultural background of each specific body expression. In the field of art she experiences the combination of Eastern and Western traditional movements. Since 1990 she has written professional articles dealing with "Dance and the Orient", which have been published in Germany,the USA, Austria and Finland

Delanna

Delanna DozentinFestival hoch Originally from Russia, living in Germany Delanna got into to contact with oriental dance as a teenager.
Fascinated by this dance and unable to stop, she finished her training as an instructor for oriental dance at the german dance sports association in 2006 and open her dance-studio „Oriental Art".
For a few years now, she is dancing in the ensemble of Magdy El Leisy and since that time, she got rewarded with the Halima price in 2008 for being an excellent emerging artist, one year later Delanna won the title "Bellydancer of the World" in the category Solo Fantasy with her VOI Dance. After the birth of her daughter, she finished the jomdance education by Said El Amir with best results in 2012.
